Professor Andrejz Pilat initially studied in Poland and then settled in Venezuela, from where he frequently traveled to the United States. There he trained with some of the great promoters of osteopathy and modern physiotherapy. He thus came into contact with myofascial therapies, specifically in the Myofascial Release school of John F. Barnes.
Fortunately for us, Pilat was hired as a professor at the ONCE University School of Physiotherapy in Madrid. In Spain Pilat founded the Tupimek School of Myofascial Therapies, which has been training numerous Spanish and Latin American physiotherapists in recent decades.
Pilat is a man of extensive training, scrupulous about the scientific rigor of his statements, and incredibly sensitive. He has developed his own research work on fascial anatomy that he has very recently captured in his two-volume masterpiece: Myofascial Induction. An anatomical approach to the treatment of fascial dysfunction. He is currently invited to give conferences and seminars at all major international events on fascia, which he combines with his continuous training activity in Spain and America.
